Darrel Strobel - Managing Director, MEP Engineering, KEO International Consultants

arrel Strobel began his career in a multi-disciplinary building consultancy following the completion of a degree in mechanical engineering. Subsequently he completed an advanced education program in building services engineering, culminating in the receipt of a master’s degree. He achieved chartered engineer status and undertook a variety of assignments as a project manager managing the technical and financial aspects of projects. Darrel has gained significant experience in building services engineering for a range of commercial and industrial projects, in both the UK and overseas. His experience includes design for Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems for buildings, as well as other related areas including fire engineering, acoustics, controls & building management systems and commissioning. As a project manager he has developed wide ranging skills in other disciplines and a good understanding of the construction process. He has nearly 10 years’ experience in senior management roles, responsible for growing business and teams against agreed targets and reporting against the success achieved. His areas of expertise include Operations Management; Project Management; Mechanical Engineering and Sustainability.

Riad Nashif - Executive Vice President Middle East and Managing Director (UAE & Oman), AECOM

Riad has over 36 years' industry experience in construction, engineering, consultancy, development and project management gained through working on some of the UAE’s landmark buildings, infrastructure and multidisciplinary projects. Working in AECOM for 27 years, he is currently responsible for the overall management of AECOM operations in the UAE and Oman. He is also responsible for developing stronger client relationships across the Middle East. Riad has been involved first hand in almost all UAE projects. Significant projects delivered under his leadership include Khalifa Port Industrial Zone, Etihad Towers and Al Raha Beach in Abu Dhabi, Etisalat Headquarters, Al Khail Roads development and Al Ittihad Interchange in Dubai.

Robert Mitchell - Principal Manager, Ted Jacob Engineering

Bob Mitchell is an electrical building services engineer with extensive experience in the design and supervision of a comprehensive range of building types and civil works. Almost 30 years of this experience has been gained in the Middle East working with international teams. Mr. Mitchell has a particular interest in, and enthusiasm for, lighting design. With a strong managerial background, Mr. Mitchell’s role ranges from business development and project inception to post-occupancy building operations. In recent years he has focused on the management of the bid process for both the architectural and engineering aspects of a project. Executing an engineering project is a complex workflow process requiring the collaboration of many partners – the client, the design team, operators and end users -- all focused on the design and construction of a unique built environment. Bob’s in-depth experience on the management team benefits the project by facilitating and expediting delivery despite demanding schedules, budgets and potential complications.

Jane Boyle is a sustainability consultant with KEO International Consultants and has more than 15 years’ experience in the design and construction industry. She has a strong background generating assessment methods and collaborating with multi-disciplinary design teams in delivery of product excellence. She has worked on exemplar level sustainable developments throughout the world, and received honors and awards from organisations in the Middle East and Europe.

Subhash has a highly successful track record delivering major infrastructure and construction projects (MEP biased) be it Airports, Malls, Hotels, High Rise Towers, Water Treatment/Reclamation Plants, Rail/Metro, ECS work for Tunnels, District Cooling plants etc. in the Far East and Middle East. He has worked on some of the most complex, design and built fast track and demanding mixed use developments, infrastructure, commercial office, education, projects from inception to completion.

Irene Montserrat - Senior Building Physicist, AECOM

Currently Senior Building Physicist at AECOM Irene is a Mechanical Engineer with 9 years of experience in the energy field. She has over six years of international experience focusing on energy efficiency and modeling for industrial, commercial and residential projects. Irene has extensive experience in energy conservation measures and renewable energy technologies. Additionally, she has implemented sustainability on a variety of projects during design and construction stages. And she has facilitated compliance with international codes, green building systems, regulations and energy standards. Her experience covers master planning and sustainable design of stadiums, industrial facilities, shopping malls, schools, offices, and hotels.

Viktor Bisovetskiy - Country Manager, Interpipe

Viktor is Country Manager for the UAE/Oman/Qatar at Interpipe, the large Ukrainian steel tubes manufacturing group. He has been working at Interpipe since 2010, leading and developing marketing activities. As Head of Marketing, he was responsible for strategy, market research and business development. Based on Interpipe’s strong international positioning, Viktor has broad knowledge of world steel pipe and oil & gas industries. He managed business development projects, focused on market entry (South America) and product portfolio expansion (Middle East/Central Asia). He is a recognized speaker at global events & conferences. In 2014 Viktor joined the Interpipe Middle East team to focus on sales in the region and is based in Dubai, UAE. Rana Itani - ‎Senior Building Physicist, Ramboll

Rana Itani is a Mechanical Engineer working as a Senior Building Physicist at Ramboll Sustainability & Design Innovation. She utilizes building physics principals to optimize design parameters with the goal of achieving sustainable and low energy demanding buildings and master plans. Her work has been recognized at the MEP awards where she was highly commended in the category of Young Engineer of the Year. She has contributed to complex projects with the highest aspirations for sustainability including goals for net zero energy, competitions for international airports inremote locations, projects for government institutions and the development of useful guidelines such as the Technical Guidelines for Retrofitting Existing Buildings released by the Emirates Green Building Council in June 2015.

Bushra Anwar - Principal Electrical Engineer - Building Services, SSH

Bushra Anwar (LEED AP, PMP) joined SSH in 2015 as Principal Electrical Engineer in Dubai. In her current role Bushra serves as technical and operational lead responsible for the design, development and implementation of a vast scope of electrical installations for a wide range of projects/buildings and applications in a very busy and fast track environment. Bushra has over 15 years of experience in the building services consultancy profession as electrical design engineer, with strong technical analytical skills and broad range of project experience in UK and Middle-east region. During her career, Bushra has attained a wealth of experience with various projects including; super-high rise, residential and offices towers, malls, hotels, Island developments, masteplans, data center, resorts and villa communities. Over the years Bushra has produced numerous sustainable designs for electrical and ELV services and professionally recognized as an expert electrical engineer within the industry. Bushra has been instrumental in the successful design of few award winning projects within MENA region such as Abu Dhabi Education Council’s Future Schools Program, Petroleum Development Oman’s community development and International School. The ADEC School project won Construction Week’s GCC project of the year award in 2013; PDO Phase 1 Development and PDO International School won Best Project and Best Sustainable Project respectively at the prestigious Dossier Construction Awards & Summit in September 2015. Bushra herself was the recipient of Best Engineer award at Dossier Summit (2015) for her involvement and contribution to Oman based projects. Bushra holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Brunel University in UK.
