Fahad Al Jahrami - Chief Operating Officer, ASTAD

Fahad is responsible for leading project management deliveries and overseeing client relations and day to day operations. He has over 14 years of international industry experience in Qatar, Malaysia and the USA where he led and managed numerous teams across multiple portfolios within the construction and engineering industry. Fahad also serves as General Manager of ASTAD Consult where he is leading the company’s service diversification and expansion. In his previous role, Fahad served as the Director of Design and Construction Management at ASTAD Project Management where he worked on one of the largest client portfolios. Fahad holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an MBA from the University of Houston.

Grahame McCaig - General Manager, Gulf Contracting Company

MCaig, who hails from South Africa, has more than 30 years’ experience in construction. That experience spans three continents and six countries. He is currently General Manager of Gulf Contracting Company here in Doha. MCaig was involved in establishing BuildSafe UAE and more recently BuildSafe South Africa and was the inaugural Chairman of both organisations. He is committed to improving the approach towards Health & Safety in the Qatar construction industry.

Des Leamy - Health Safety & Environmental Director, KEO International Consultants

Leamy is a highly qualified professional HSE Manager with over twenty years’ experience in Qatar and Ireland. He has provided HSE services to a wide range of projects including retail, medical, educational, hospitality, commercial, residential and infrastructure developments. In addition, he has worked on airports, industrial factory’s, incinerators and shopping malls. He has been with KEO since he was appointed Senior Health and Safety Manager for Education City in 2008 after which he was promoted to Divisional HSE Manager in 2010 and again in 2016 to his current position of HSE Director. In this role he is responsible for HSE services for KEO throughout the Middle East. He has discharged this responsibility on a number of large scale projects from a variety of high profile clients on high rise residential buildings, Hospitals, Stadiums, large scale Infrastructure.

Alan Crawford - Senior HSE Specialist, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

Alan Crawford is currently an Senior HSE Specialist at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy FIFA World Cup Qatar 2011. He is a graduate in Occupational Health and Safety Management from Glasgow Caledonian University in his home country of Scotland. Previous to his current role he was Head of Corporate QHSE at Qatar Project Management, following two years as a senior Health and Safety Manager at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), in Saudi Arabia. His career started in electrical engineering, so health and safety has been an integral part of his working life since his first job as an apprentice back in 1977. Alan has over twenty years’ experience in health and safety management within the construction, engineering, hotel & leisure and education sectors. He has also taught health and safety on IOSH, NEBOSH and CITB training courses.

Chris Daniels - QHSE Director – Operations, ASTAD

A corporate executive with over thirty years of QHSE management experience in project delivery obtained from international assignments in aerospace, petro-chemical, architectural project lighting and civil engineering. Having participated in a number of high profile, high value project start-ups plus having conducted over 1000+ ISO9001 audits as a lead auditor, this Subject Matter Expert has good awareness of industry best practice for construction services and with that innovative solutions for project delivery, particularly for multi-site and multi-office make-ups. With a track record of completing projects on time and within budget, Chris has operated at Director Level since 2011 and has been working for ASTAD since 2015 as QHSE Director – Operations. Chris has broad facilitator skills which include delivering specialized project training material based on how to identify and control at risk behavior within the workplace.
