The award nomination is open to telecom operators in the MEA region; moreover, vendors who have completed successful projects with the operators can also file in nominations in partnership with the operator. All nominations must be submitted via the website by clicking on “Submit Nominations”. Once you’ve completed the registration process, you will be able to work on your nominations and edit them till the nomination deadline. Entry submissions may be accompanied by supporting documentation, such as testimonials, references, project descriptions, photographs and published articles. With telecom operators increasingly looking to expand their revenues from the enterprise sector, this award recognises the telecom product or service that has made an outstanding contribution to the business sector in the Middle East. The nominations will be judges on the level of innovation demonstrated by the service, and its impact on the end-user’s business.
3. INNOVATIVE SATELLITE SERVICE OF THE YEAR
Satellite communication remains a vital component of the broader telecoms industry, offering voice and data solutions in areas that may fall outside the reach of terrestrial services. The winner in this category will be the operator that has best adapted to market characteristics and has offered innovative satellite service with commercial success and improvement of lives for customers.
4. BEST CONTENT OFFERING INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR - NEW CATEGORY
Entertainment is one of the services that features topmost on the customers’ priority list these days. This award seeks to recognise a telecom operator to reward the service provider with the most innovative content strategy. Nominations will need to include evidence of innovative content models and partnerships, innovative packaging and pricing strategies, and of course amazing accessibility and usability.
5. AWARD FOR CONNECTING THE UNCONNECTED
This award seeks to award the service provider that has taken initiatives to connect regions in the Middle East and Africa that remain unconnected or poorly connected.
6. OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARD
Excellent customer service underpins the success of telecom operators. The award aims to reward the operator that has managed to provide an outstanding all-round experience for its customers. Nominees will be judged on several grounds, which include evidences that showcase the operators’ proactive customer care strategies, customer care culture in the organisation and most importantly empirical evidence of customer satisfaction achieved by them. Customer testimonials, statistical data, and NPS scores are of utmost importance in this category. To ensure that the people who use the services also get to have their say, nominations and judging for this award will be open to CommsMEA readers as well.
7. INTERNET OF THINGS SOLUTION OF THE YEAR – NEW CATEGORY
With Machine to Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things(IoT) technologies taking an increasingly prominent role in many sectors, including transport and logistics, operators are already profiting from this fast-growing side of the telecommunication industry. Nominees are required to demonstrate how they have utilised IoT to benefit business and/or consumer users, increase revenue-generation, operational efficiency, attraction or retention of customers, and expansion into new markets or verticals.
8. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR
The region’s operators and vendors invest a significant amount of time, money and effort on CSR campaigns, and this is something that this award aims to recognise. The judging criteria will focus on the scale, scope and impact of the CSR campaign on its target community, and the campaign’s potential to raise brand awareness.
9. MARKETING INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR
As operators outsource more of the technical aspects of their business, so marketing is rising in prominence. This award aims to recognise the operator that has executed the most innovative and effective operator marketing or advertising campaign of the year and demonstrates how that campaign raised brand awareness and delivered positive business outcomes. Judging criteria include the level of innovation and imagination, and the success of the campaign in terms of measurable metrics.
